A fully integrated multi-specialty clinical center designed to provide inpatient and outpatient services primarily for neurological patients.
The centre is the Department of Neurorehabilitation Sciences, accredited by the Italian National Health System and supported financially by the Lombardy region. The center focuses on neuroscience, neurorehabilitation sciences, and quality of life. CCP is a partner of national and international coalitions for innovative research in clinical and technical aspects with applications to neurological rehabilitation and debilitating conditions in aging. Cooperation in European projects over the past few years has led to CCP receiving national and community funding.
Projects supporting ICT are being improved with industry partners to expand the range of services aimed at achieving an effective continuum of care. Research activities are moving in the direction of personalized rehabilitation programs. AAL and cognitive technologies such as body and environmental sensors, cameras, mobile apps (for example, serious games), brain-computer interfaces and even robotics will support this process to monitor beha vioral traits and physical activity in older adults. The virtual coach system for the rehabilitation of the elderly is one of the focuses of international research.
The center is involved in clinical and preclinical research programs for neurodegenerative diseases, including biomarker analysis and genetic studies as well as innovative new therapies for affected patients. Research efforts include biomarker analysis and genetic studies to bring innovative new therapies to patients with neurodegenerative diseases.
