Project introduction:

A British company promoted the electric micro dehumidifier with ion-exchange membrane technology to meet the demand for compact and maintenance-free air-drying solutions to protect sensitive equipment from moisture damage.

This kind of membrane is specially designed for industrial and commercial applications, which provides a long-term solution for humidity control of the enclosure. A solid polymer electrolyte membrane is used to remove water by electrolysis. It works by applying 3V DC voltage to the membrane. The moisture on the dehumidified side is decomposed into hydrogen ions and oxygen. The hydrogen ion membrane migrates to the water discharge side, and reacts with the oxygen in the air, resulting in the discharge of water vapor to the outside of the shell. The process does not involve liquid water, therefore, cleaning, drainage, periodic charging or replacement are not required. The product consumes little energy, and can continuously extract water from the enclosed area for 24 hours without significant energy cost.

Although designed for dehumidification, it can also be used as a humidifier in the opposite way. Through two membranes and a simple electrical control circuit, accurate humidity stability can also be achieved.

It can be used in various applications and environments from-20 C to+50 C, including laser processing systems, museum display cabinets, forward-looking infrared, medical and X-ray equipment, LED lighting, instrumentation and electrical cabinets, etc.
