Introduction: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung of Vietnam witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony of the New Vietnam Quang Ngai Industrial Park. Located in Quang Ngai Province in central Vietnam, the park is a joint venture between Singapore's Sembcorp Urban Development Corporation and Vietnamese state-owned Becamex IDC, with a total investment of US$337 million. This is Singapore's fifth industrial park in Vietnam, where Sembcorp has previously developed four industrial parks, the first two in the southern province of Binh Duong and the other two in the northern province of Bac Ninh and Hai Phong City; The fifth industrial park, set up to develop the relatively underdeveloped central region of Vietnam, will set new standards in terms of facilities and environmental quality, and will try to move from traditional industrial parks to integrated towns, in addition to attracting higher output and capital-intensive industries such as pharmacy, precision engineering and high-end consumer products.
Details: The fifth Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park is located in Quang Ngai Province in central Vietnam. The industrial park includes 660 hectares of industrial park and 255 hectares of land in the Rongju Economic Zone for commercial and residential use, built near the urban area of Quang Ngai City. The Rong Orange Economic Zone is home to a national refinery strongly promoted and supported by the Vietnamese government. The geographical advantage of the park caters to the oil, gasoline and chemical industries. Relying on the location of the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park in Quang Ngai Province in the central region of Vietnam, manufacturers can ship goods to markets in northern and southern Vietnam, as well as to Laos, Cambodia or Thailand. In addition, the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park in Quang Ngai province is particularly beneficial for the food and beverage, FMCG and electronics assembly industries.
