Industry: Environmental protection   Region: Germany   Transaction price: US$ 1 million   Transaction method: equity investment

Project introduction:

A start-up company in Germany focuses on using plasma coating technology to make plastic packaging recyclable. Many chemical products have extremely high requirements for their packaging. Therefore, at present, cheap packaging plastics and expensive barrier plastics are combined and applied to multi-layer packaging containers, which brings challenges to recycling. The company has developed a barrier coating system suitable for single-material plastics. This system can show the same performance as the multi-material method in terms of barrier and chemical resistance, and the cost is greatly reduced. Crucially, it can be recycled.

Technical introduction:

The company adopts an advanced plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) process to coat an ultra-thin glass barrier layer inside the plastic container. This nano-coating can reliably prevent the migration of substances, and then can adopt a single material packaging solution. This technology has been fully verified in various application scenarios and has been successfully introduced to the market. Its recyclability has passed the Recyclass certification. The coating process is fully automatic and extensible, and can be seamlessly integrated into the existing production line. This is helpful to develop plastic packaging with high performance, real recyclability and low carbon footprint.

Cooperation mode:

Looking for partners who need recyclable packaging in the fields of food, pharmacy, cosmetics, household and industrial chemicals.
