A Spanish R&D start-up that innovates the construction industry through biomaterials aims to reduce the cost and carbon dioxide emissions of the construction industry. Its innovative metamaterial products can replace unstructured concrete in prefabricated building systems. It is biodegradable and environmentally friendly, and has the same performance as concrete, but the cost is lower. By creating elastic and climate-adaptive materials, we can interact with the environment and improve the energy efficiency of houses.
Product introduction:
The metamaterial consists of alginate, inorganic salt, water and other additives. This kind of material is wrapped in geomembrane and inserted into unstructured hollow concrete slabs and wooden boards, which has biodegradable characteristics and is an environmental protection building solution.
