Project introduction:
So far, the so-called urea-formaldehyde resin is commonly used in the production of wood composites. However, these materials are easy to hydrolyze, so the produced wood materials will release formaldehyde even after many years of production. Scientists at the University of Gö ttingen in Germany have developed a bio-adhesive based on oil plant residues to produce composite materials. The new formaldehyde-free adhesive has excellent performance, so it can replace the existing adhesive in many applications.
Industry dilemma
At present, most petroleum-based polycondensation urea-formaldehyde resins are used to produce wood materials. However, despite all the technical advantages of these resins, there is still a decisive disadvantage, that is, these resins are basically easy to hydrolyze, so the produced wood materials will release formaldehyde even after many years of production. Therefore, it is necessary to provide alternative adhesives, especially formaldehyde-free adhesives, so that formaldehyde will not be released or only a small amount will be released after the production of wood and composite materials.
Innovative solutions
Scientists from a German university have developed a bio-adhesive based on oil plant residues to produce composite materials. In addition, the invention also relates to a method for preparing an adhesive containing further processed oil plant residues. The new formaldehyde-free adhesive has excellent performance, so it can replace the existing adhesive in many applications.
Wood and composite materials are produced by using new bio-based adhesives, which do not contain formaldehyde or release only a small amount of formaldehyde after production.
superiority
● Bio-based adhesives for the production of wood and composite materials.
● The product does not contain formaldehyde or only releases a small amount of formaldehyde after production.
● Simple and rapid manufacturing process of adhesive containing oil processing residue.
● Due to the waste products (by-products) produced by using vegetable oil, sustainable production has been realized.
