Project introduction:

Founded in 2006, Greek Bio-Cluster has more than 85 member units. It is an early and large-scale health and biotechnology cluster in Greece. It is initiated and independent by the Greek Research and Technology Foundation (FORTH) and brings together innovative leading enterprises in the fields of pharmacy, biotechnology, diagnosis, medical devices and related professional services in Greece. The cluster has 13,000 employees and created a market output value of 80 million euros, with a market share of 3.9 billion euros and exports of 1.1 billion euros. Cluster has created a powerful ecosystem, which includes the main research institutions in Greece (FORTH, CERTH, BRFAA, BSRC Alexander Fleming, NCSR Demokritos), major partners in universities and pharmaceutical industries, small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups and derivative enterprises from the whole health and biotechnology industry, and has become a powerful regulator and promoter of the innovation process of Greek biotechnology industry.
