The Institute is a non-profit research institution in the Rhineland-Nath State of Parati and Kaiserslautern Technical University.
It is of great significance for future mobility, energy, climate and environment, production technology and medical care to study the basis of future application of composite materials. Study new materials, construction methods and manufacturing processes, and after basic understanding, customize them according to their respective product requirements.
It focuses on the whole process chain, from basic materials to characterization and simulation, from construction methods and production technologies to component testing and recycling. New ideas and innovative concepts are not only an important part of the research and further development of the institute, but also lead to derivative products.
Importantly, the newly acquired knowledge is transformed into science, but also into teaching, interested public and application.
As a member of the association, German research institutes are looking for partners.

As a member of the Association, the Institute receives institutional funding according to A V-WGL for joint financial support from federal and state institutions (50% for the federal share, 50% for Rhineland-Parati and 50% for the whole state). Government support (50% for the federal share, 50% for the Rhineland-Parati state and 50% for the whole state).
