Description of Requirement:

Research institutes working in the field of energy management (EM) provide software tools to optimize energy consumption in industrial processes or buildings through intelligent control. Consider long-term partnerships with industrial partners in terms of technical cooperation, research cooperation, licensing agreements and/or technical assistance commercial agreements.

details:

1. Technical details

The institute is part of the German Institute for Applied Research in the field of energy management. Its experts have participated in several national and international research projects and are interested in finding new partners, applications and projects in the field of energy management.

The tool is mainly used in the field of building energy management, where significant energy savings can be detected. These methods are not limited to this specific application and can also be used for other processes with high energy demands.

Significant improvements in energy costs are expected in one (or more) of the following scenarios:

Time-varying energy prices or time-limited (renewable) energy

● Slow dynamics of the process under consideration (eg underfloor heating or thermally activated building systems (TABS) )

Use of energy storage equipment (battery, buffer tank)

● Highly time-varying interference

the variable efficiency of energy production/conversion considered (eg, dependent on internal process variables)

● Allows a wide range of control variables

The Institute provides cooperation in bilateral partnerships as follows:

●Analyze and visualize partner (historical) process data and roughly assess your energy saving potential

●Develop advanced control concepts considering the specific needs of partners

Develop process system models for control purposes using data-based empirical modeling techniques (time series analysis/system identification)/principle physical modeling

●Evaluate energy saving potential through simulation

● Implement and test control algorithms (eg model control)

The institute is looking for a partner in an industry with a deep drive to develop energy management systems through intelligent control. This interest can stem from:

● Consider the high cost of the process, due to high energy consumption or high peak loads etc.

● Interest in extending service life or reducing wear on process components

The considered partner should be able to provide process data, such as measurement data, data sheets, physical parameters of the considered process or system.

Cooperation is envisaged as technical cooperation, licensing agreements and/or commercial agreements with technical assistance. Collaborations can also be undertaken under a research collaboration agreement.

2. Advantages and Innovation

The proposed product is based on an advanced optimized monitoring strategy, which can lead to significant energy (or cost) savings in the building's air conditioning and heating systems. Reduce wear and extend service life.

benefit:

●Data processing in different formats based on the construction industry

● Consider time-varying constraints and environmental variables (eg weather conditions, energy prices.... )

● Interactive graphs based on energy alerts for further evaluation

Detects components that oscillate simultaneously
