Industry: Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry and Fishing Region: Germany Transaction Price: USD 1 million Transaction Method: Equity Financing

Description of Requirement:

A German company has developed a patented mobile autonomous marine fish farm that is resistant to harsh conditions at sea and is low cost, low risk, sustainable and economical with fish welfare in mind. The cylindrical fish cage is connected to a single single point anchoring service station. Cages are submerged below the lower trough where fish usually live. Prototypes have been successfully tested in the Atlantic. Seek a partner for a license agreement.

details:

Healthy marine resources are overfished and aquaculture is increasing. However, there is no sustainable and economical fish farm technology to produce competitive seafood in the high seas.

An inventor from a German company has a solution. He developed a single-point anchored offshore fish farm that is mobile and circulated over a wide area so that fish manure doesn't accumulate under the cages, which can lead to disease and sea lice. The new cylindrical fish cages are submerged below the lower wave troughs, where fish live freely. This avoids stress on the fish and material. The cylindrical cage, like a submarine, is attached to a single, single-point anchored service station, like a boat.

Fish are fed in underwater cages by patented automatic feeders. Harvesting and grading were done by lifting half of the cage out of the water with the aid of a vacuum pump. There is no need to replace mosquito nets as they can be cleaned by sunlight and air. Offshore fish farms can move quickly to pass marine constraints, such as toxic algae and plastic floods or hurricanes, and can be moved to coastal harvesting and processing units, avoiding separate shipping costs. Dead fish are spotted by cameras and handled by the new Dead Fish Collector.

Prototypes of the system have been tested in the Atlantic Ocean for more than four years and have performed static work with 10 m wave resistance.

Technical Information

- Cylindrical cage without wear technology, processed by air pressure.

- Fixed and flexible air chambers in axial ducts submerge the cage to a pre-given depth and lift half of the cage out of the water for service and net cleaning by sunlight and air.

-Five air chambers on the periphery of both ends of the cage stabilize and rotate the cage to the desired position for harvesting, grading, serving and cleaning the net.

- Electricity for mobile service station is provided by wind/solar (50 KW battery).

- The mobile, autonomous marine fish farm is suitable for both shallow and deep water, with only one anchor and no expensive mooring systems on the sea.

- Sensors and cameras monitor the entire fish farm and ensure remote control.

- The computerized main panel on the service station is connected to the sealed box on the underwater cage to control the functions of the cage.

Seek licensing agreements from partners to build such farms. Possible partners are aquaculture farmers, businesses or cooperatives and/or mariculture construction companies/investors.
