Description of Requirement:
A Polish design office opened in Upper Silesia in 2010, engaged in rapid prototyping centered on light-carbon structural manufacturing techniques, is looking for a distributor for its new product - a mobility wheelchair made almost entirely of carbon fiber. Wheelchairs are a modern form of personal transportation for people with disabilities, such as athletes, active people who require a high degree of mobility and autonomy.
details:
The Polish company was founded in Upper Silesia in 2010 to create a new type of personal transport for people with reduced mobility. It has a modular structure made of carbon fiber, complemented by light metal parts and star-strengthened plastic parts. The wheelchair module includes: seat with backrest, support frame, axle with removable drive wheels and footrests. These modules can be replaced when needed, and their mutual position can be easily adjusted. Changing their position affects the size of the wheelchair and its movement (rolling position), which can be adjusted according to the user's height, weight distribution and personal preference.
The wheelchair has a foldable, ergonomically shaped backrest, the angle of which can be adjusted by making interchangeable inserts, selected in a separate installation process. The backrest can be fitted with additional postural corrective elements, as recommended by the orthopaedic surgeon for the individual patient. Also in the case of the footrest, its angle and height can be adjusted by using replaceable inserts, thanks to the freedom of adjustment offered by 3D printing technology. This solution reduces the number of moving parts responsible for adjustment to a minimum, resulting in a wheelchair with higher stiffness and lower weight without compromising adjustability.
The design process follows a design thinking approach and is based on a comprehensive analysis of mechanical parameters and ergonomic issues in consultation with experienced wheelchair users. Combining these aspects in an aesthetically pleasing ensemble results in an unusual trolley with a total weight of around 5kg that is practical even for demanding users.
To expand its presence in foreign markets, the company is looking for distribution partners.
