Project introduction

Project name: Reconstruction of SLOVYANSKA TPP Unit 6, which comprises two generating units N96B and N96A, each with a capacity of at least 330 MW

Ownership: PJSC

Project address: Donetsk region

Project objectives: to improve the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of TPP, reduce harmful gas emissions and specific fuel consumption, extend the service life of TPP and reduce auxiliary power consumption.

Construction cycle: 4 years

Form of investment: mixed financing

Total investment forecast: $7.058 billion

Financial details:

●DPP:14 years

● NPV: $2.553 billion

●IRR: 13.8%

●PI: 136

Transformation objectives:

● Use two new and advanced generator sets to replace the generator set that has passed its service life, so as to improve the reliability of equipment operation. These original power generating units are physically worn out, outdated and ecologically harmful.

● Slovianska TPP's life was extended by 40 years due to the construction of high-efficiency generator sets with critical parameters and the expansion of the load range of the generator sets to 30-100% of the designed rated load.

● The provisions for the units 6B and 6A to participate in the rated primary and secondary automatic frequency and power control are as follows: considering the conditions for the formation of long-term power and energy balance before 2030, Ukrainian companies will improve the power supply standard of adjacent industrial zones.

● Ensure compliance with the technical standards for acceptable emission limits of sulphur and nitrogen oxides pollutants and particulate matter (dust) by implementing environmental protection technologies related to coal combustion in circulating fluidized bed boilers (CFB technology) and high efficiency gas purification units.

Project expectations:

The implementation of the project will increase the installed capacity of Slovianska TPP by 660 MW and will make up for the existing capacity shortage in the region.

Intention to cooperate:

The project is now seeking investment.
