Project Introduction:
The project provides a phased start-up of three 4-6 water storage pumps with turbine mode capacity of 453MW and pump mode capacity of 648MW. The project aims to cover peak loads, night "gaps" in Ukraine's combined energy system, and to build emergency stocks of rapid response capacity in southern Ukraine.
Project construction period: 5 years
Investment: $200 million, hybrid financing

Socioeconomic Impact/Project benefits:
● Electricity production covers peak consumption (evening and morning), using cheaper excess electricity at night;
● Possibility of load tracking and/or capacity balancing in the Ukrainian power system;
● Create opportunities for SE"NNEGC"Energoatom' to maintain and/or increase generating capacity and allow the Ukrainian Joint Energy System to restore the power generation/consumption balance in the country.
