Industry: Manufacturing Region: Scotland Transaction Price: $1 million Transaction Method: Equity investment

Brief introduction:

In June 2020, The Crown Estate Scotland launched the first round of offshore wind seabed leases in Scotland, called Scotwind.

With a total value of more than £8 billion, the project will involve around 10GW of installed capacity in nearly 17 offshore areas, both floating and fixed-base offshore.

The project will be announced in 2021. When completed, the project will make Scotland one of the top ten markets in the world for installed offshore wind capacity (15-17GW).

Advantage:

Scotland has about 735GW of offshore wind power, about 25% of Europe's, of which 169GW is available from the sea breeze. Scotwind plans to launch new bids in the next few years.

ScotWind will supply all Scottish homes with low-carbon electricity, thereby reducing co2 emissions by more than six million tonnes a year, towards Scotland's goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2045.

Scotwind's investment and supply chain opportunities are highly anticipated and could be an important part of the recovery of Scotland's green industry, as well as a platform to strengthen cooperation between Scotland and China in offshore wind and the low carbon transition.
