This Spanish team developed an innovative offshore wind turbine construction process and a self-lifting tower structure, all assembled onshore.
Details:
The Spanish team developed innovative large offshore wind projects offshore wind turbine construction technology and automatic lifting of the tower structure, the entire process is to complete the shore, overcome the disadvantages of traditional turbine high installation and maintenance costs, get rid of the traditional wind power dependence on expensive and scarce heavy ship, reduce the cost of 30% ~ 40% compared with traditional, Has greatly improved the commercial viability of offshore wind projects worldwide.
Technology introduction
This technology is used in bottom-fixed offshore wind infrastructure, enabling for the first time a complete infrastructure and turbine unit to be pre-assembled onshore without the need for any heavy offshore lift to be installed in place.
The company's commercial wind farm platforms can be built at a rate of 50-70 per year. These include an automatic lifting tower made of precast concrete panels that are manufactured in sync with the foundation platform and transported by truck to the tower installation position. The nacelles and blades are fully assembled ashore, and the retractable tower reduces the assembly height, greatly reducing the requirement for cranes and increasing the possibility of industrialization.
While maintaining high stability during installation, the size of the base platform was optimized. During the turbine's service, an auxiliary platform is attached to the tower. This connected auxiliary platform can be modified and equipped with a commercial shore crane to perform large corrective maintenance operations. Towing and ballast tests are completed in port before the transport is shipped offshore, while the retractable tower lowers the centre of gravity, increases stability and reduces movement. Upon completion of the inspection, only a conventional tugboat can perform the towing task and its installation does not require any heavy lifting vessel. Once on site, two additional tugboats will be added to ensure the location, and everything can be monitored and operated remotely from the control ship.
Cooperation intention
The company is now looking for a Chinese partner to provide technical support.
