Project Introduction:

This is a Swedish medical technology company based in Lund. The company was founded in 2013 by a team of researchers from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Lund University.

Industry demand:

Currently, there is a lack of reliable diagnostic methods for lymphatic spread in patients with rectal cancer during preoperative evaluation, especially if the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes.

The company is focused on a novel, user-friendly imaging method known as magnetodynamic ultrasound.

As a contrast agent for medical ultrasound imaging, the company uses nanoparticles based on iron oxide.

These images are generated by visualizing NanoTrace® signals designed to facilitate the differentiation between diseased tissue and healthy tissue. The method makes it possible to detect cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes before surgery.

With its higher accuracy, the method has the potential to meet the need for more reliable staging of rectal cancer patients by providing a better mapping of cancer spread to nearby lymph nodes.

Cooperation Intention:

The company hopes to seek strategic partners in the Chinese market to jointly develop the Chinese market.
