Within a radius of 100 kilometers, manganese ore, mercury mine, potash ore, coal mine, lead-zinc ore and barite reserves are very rich, of which manganese ore and lead-zinc ore metal reserves reach more than 90 million tons and 120,000 tons respectively, potassium rock reserves reach 5 billion tons, barite accounts for more than 80% of the country's proven reserves. The power supply is abundant, and the State Grid covers the entire territory of the development zone, which is an important support point for Guizhou's "West-to-East Power Transmission" project. The development zone has broad prospects and strong staying power. Metallurgy, chemical industry, fine cycle deep processing based on manganese, barium and potassium, development and utilization of new energy and new materials, equipment manufacturing industry, and undertaking labor-intensive industries in the central and eastern regions have begun to take shape, with 136 industrial enterprises and 36 industrial enterprises above designated size in the jurisdiction in 2012.
