The park is mainly based on high-tech industry, medical device industry, green energy industry and modern manufacturing industry as the leading industries, and is the green energy industry base in Beijing. On October 13, 2012, Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park was adjusted from "District 1 Ten Parks" to "District 1 Sixteen Parks", Pinggu Park was one of them, and Mafang Industrial Park was an important part of Pinggu Park. The park is located in the southwest of Pinggu, bordering Shunyi and Hebei Sanhe. The Jingping-Jixin Expressway spans the east-west and connects the two metropolitan areas of Beijing and Tianjin.
