Project introduction:
The Institute of Information Systems of a Swiss university was established in 2006, which was formed by the merger of the Basel Institute of Applied Business Management and the Information Systems Capability Center of Oltang. Today, the institute has more than 50 employees, most of whom are researchers who study business, industry and public management issues.
The institute provides education, consulting services, research and development of IT and business interfaces. The main research fields are e-commerce, e-government, distance learning, information and knowledge management, IT management and system engineering, including simulation and optimization and artificial intelligence application.
The Institute has rich experience in independent and joint research projects supported by public funds provided by Swiss institutions and European community research projects. For example, research projects involve information and knowledge management, improvement of business processes and optimization of logistics and production. Recently, various projects are related to artificial intelligence, machine learning and natural language processing.
