Industry: Equipment industry   Region: Italy   Transaction price: US$ 1 million   Transaction method: equity investment

Project introduction:

The company is a spin-off company of the University of Calabria, Italy, and develops innovative solutions based on cutting-edge technologies applied to cultural heritage, industry and marine engineering (i.e. ocean and blue economy). The company focuses on research and development, 3D modeling and reconstruction, digital twinning, prototype design, AR/VR/XR and ICT solutions to support professionals and improve the user experience.

Main products:

-XR tools for intelligent assembly, maintenance and troubleshooting

The company has developed an integrated system to connect different processes in the industry by providing innovative methods to support the normal operation of assembly, maintenance and troubleshooting using XR technology. The system consists of the following parts: (a) PC-based tools, (b) cloud-based storage center, and (c) AR/XR applications. It is mainly used in the assembly process, providing operators with step-by-step instructions (that is, by displaying virtual prototypes superimposed on physical objects and providing descriptions about the assembly process, including metadata), and improving the communication between design and assembly offices (that is, tasks, lists and 3D annotations).

-Virtual underwater tour

Virtual underwater tour is a virtual reality (VR) application, which allows visitors to enjoy the marine landscape (underwater settlements, sunken ships and natural assets), and allows users to simulate real underwater archaeological/cultural or natural site diving from the perspective of scuba divers. Virtual underwater tour represents the field of VR technology innovation applied to the promotion of underwater sites. Virtual underwater tour combines the advantages provided by new VR technology with new 3D reconstruction technology to create virtual tour for the development of underwater cultural heritage. It fully conforms to the head mounted display (HMD) technology, providing users with a completely immersive underwater scene experience. VR system can choose different types of experience according to specific needs. Dry Visit is designed to run in the fixed devices of high-end systems or be installed in portable devices (low-end systems) for diving centers and tour operators to use during activities, fair trade, exhibitions, etc.
